Chōbunsai Eishi
ca. 1780-90s
Three ladies at leisure, dressed in simple garments which appear to have originally been orange, pale red, and blue. Located behind a painted screen with a pine tree, is a plant of chrysanthemums in a pot decorated with a dragon flying over water. The figures are surrounded by highly stylised calligraphy, with the title of the work in the top right and the artist's signature below.
