Hoi An Hoard Blue and White Porcelain Dragon Box

A Vietnamese blue and white porcelain box with a moulded dragon relief lid recovered from the Hoi An Hoard shipwreck.


The box lid is decorated with an unglazed moulded relief design of a dragon with traces of gilding surrounded by a glazed band consisting of repeating squares showing foliage. The bottom segment of the box is decorated around its base with a floral scene.


The bottom of the piece has a 'HOI AN HOARD' label and a second barcode label on the side identifying the bowl as coming from lot number 2847.
