Hikinuide Kasumi no Nidomise

A woodblock print triptych showing a scene from the Kabuki play Hikinuide Kasumi no Nidomise, which was performed at the Nakamura Theatre in 1856.
In the right panel, Iyami Kincho, played by Seki Sanjuro III (1805-1870), stands on his toes on top of a pillow to peek over a folding screen. The central panel shows Iyami Kingoro, played by Bando Hikosaburo V (1832-1877), holding a hand drum. The left panel shows the beauty of Omiya Kifuji, played by Onoe Kikugoro IV (1808-1860), looking away from Ebijaku no Ju, played by Kawarazaki Gonjuro I (1838-1903).
